Mitzi Lai, a long time teacher and popular workshop instructor, her paintings have won many awards and are in corporate as well as private collections throughout the area and several countries. Her passion to art leads her to many different mediums, from Chinese painting, oil, watercolor to digital fine arts.  Mitzi has a Master of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State Univ. Texas.


Her one-woman shows include Cleveland Botanic Garden; Jewish Community Ct., Cleveland, Ohio;  Beck Culture Center, Lakewood, Ohio; Mather Gallery of Case Western University, Cleveland, Ohio;  Chinese Arts Gallery in Houston, Texas. Invitational Exhibition include New England Fine Arts Institute’s National Exhibition in Boston; City Hall of Alhambra, Calif.  and among many other regional exhibitions.   Invitational exhibitions recently including, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Exhibit 2013 - 2015; International juried Oil Painters of America Salon Exhibition 2013;Salon International 2010 at Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio,Texas; Springfield Museum of Art 2010, Springfield, Ohio; 2009 at The Schumacher Gallery and High Road Gallery, Columbus, Ohio; Artists Archives of Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio;  National Small Oil Painting 2008, 2012, at Kansas City and Best of Photography Annual by Photographer’s Forum Magazine 2008.

2012 Her work is included in the “Strokes of Genius 4”  by North Light Books. Also “National Small Oil Exhibition” at the Wichita Center for the Arts at Wichita, Kansas.

Mitzi is an Artist-in-Residence for the Ohio Arts Council’s Arts Learning and member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Ohio Plein Air Society.  She teaches classes and workshops at Cleveland Museum of Art as well as at her studio.   Besides painting, giving workshop, lecturing, she is also a professional designer for dinner wares, fabric and other home furnishing products as well as greeting cards, paper products ....etc.
